Forever and Forever: The Courtship of Henry Longfellow and Fanny Appleton by Josi S. Kilpack features the story of the courtship between Henry Longfellow, an American poet and Fanny Applegate, the daughter of an upper-class, wealthy Bostonian. Unlike most of her peers, Fanny enjoys intellectual pursuits and decides against marriage. Her interest in poetry, language and quick intellect attracts Henry Longfellow who falls quickly and deeply in love.

Kilpack's fictional take on Longfellow and Appleton's courtship proved an interesting read. The romance is not the typical romance and shows the characters' flaws and mistakes. For anyone who loves poetry, history and romance, this will be an interesting read. I borrowed one to read from the Boise Public Library system and it's available on Amazon.
