How to Get Rid of Bathtub Stains

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

So, I have tried recommendations online on how to clean bathtub stains and none of them seemed to work real well and if you have the plastic type tub, it seems to turn black easily. I recently used Soft Scrub with Bleach to clean our bathtub and it worked really well. I squeezed a bunch of it on the tub and let it rest for a couple of hours. To help spread it around, use a dry sponge. After waiting a couple of hours, I then scrubbed the tub and rinsed it out with water. After I scrubbed the tub, the tub was noticeably a lot whiter.  Sorry, I do not have before and after pictures, but Soft Scrub is not that expensive so I recommend trying it.

Emerald Bowling Lanes in Boise, ID

Monday, July 28, 2014

We recently went to Emerald Bowling Lanes in Boise, ID on date night. Emerald Bowling Lanes seemed well-kept and had friendly employees. We bowled two games and enjoyed cosmic bowling. Cosmic bowling is where the lanes are lit up with fluorescent lighting and the whole place is black lit. It's pretty cool to bowl when there's a light show going on. Emerald Bowling Lanes has a small grill with delicious brownie bites and onion rings. The bowling alley seemed great for parties, dates and family night. My only concerns were how loud the music was (but my husband reminded me it was because I was getting older), the big screens near the lane showing music videos was a little distracting and the bouncer at the door.

Torchy Tacos Review

Thursday, July 24, 2014

Are you looking for damn good tacos? Torchy Tacos (Austin and other parts of Texas) offers some of the best tacos in the country. Their tacos would cause the greatest stone-hard foodie to have a huge smile. Not only are their tacos just that good, but their queso is pure happiness for your tummy's delight. My favorites are the green chile pork taco and the democrat. Their sodas are also local, different and worth a try. If you're near a Torchy's, I suggest you go and get something to eat.

Dharma Sushi and Thai Review

Wednesday, July 23, 2014

Recently, we tried Dharma Sushi and Thai Restaurant in Downtown Boise. I was nervous at first that it wasn't family orientated, but they had a kid's menu and they also had a high chair for us to use. We ordered an entree and an appetizer and found out quickly that we had ordered too much food. The main entree's are filling enough and the sushi rolls are huge! I ordered the 20/20 and found it to be delicious. My husband ordered the Red Thai Curry, which was excellent as well.  I encourage you to check them out.

Verts Review

Tuesday, July 22, 2014

One of my family's favorite restaurants in Austin is Verts. Verts sells Berlin-inspired kebaps and are expanding throughout Texas. I wouldn't be surprised if they expand into other states soon. Although the kebaps are Berlin inspired, they reminded my husband of the kebabs that you can get on the streets of Paris. Verts offers vegetarian, chicken and beef/lamb kebaps. We always got the beef/lamb option, which is extremely good. There are several sauce options and recommendations on what sauce to use. My standard Verts kebap was beef/lamb, no sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and sometimes onions. My husband's standard kebap excluded the cucumbers and included the Verts House Sauce and Spicy Red. Verts often will send coupons to those subscribed to their enewsletter so if you live near a Verts I would highly recommend that you sign up for their enewsletter.

Cottonelle Review

Monday, July 21, 2014

Recently, Cottonelle sent me Cottonelle Clean Care 4 Pack, Flushable Cleansing Cloths Dispenser and Cleansing Cloths Portable Soft Pack to review from Crowdtap. They also sent me samples that I shared with extended family members.

Cottonelle Cleansing Cloths are great to help tots learn to wipe, get a greater cleaning, after pregnancy and feminine needs. They are also easily portable to take with you on the go. The Cottonelle Cleansing Cloths are a great product to have in your home. They help you feel cleaner and fresher.

The Cottonelle Clean Care 4-pack is soft and the ridges in the paper help you to stay clean. The only problem I could find is that the roll of toilet paper did not seem to have as much on it as Scotts. When you squeezed the roll, it did not seem as thick.

Disclaimer: I received my Cottonelle Samples from Crowdtap for free for testing and review purposes in exchange of my opinion, which is reflected in this entry.

Visiting the Arches National Park

Friday, July 18, 2014

This summer we stopped at Arches National Park. I feel like this National Park is often overlooked, but the views are spectacular. We made a short visit, but I am sure in the future when are little one is older we will go back for hiking and biking. The scenic views are spectacular and are amazing to look at. My jaw dropped several times at the majestic views and beauty of it all.

The Arches National Park is near Moab, Utah, which seems like a cute little town. We stayed outside of Moab in a locally owned hotel in Monticello at the Inn of the Canyons. It was an older motel, but well kept and reasonably priced.

Visiting the Boise Zoo

Thursday, July 17, 2014

The little one, my mom and I visited the Boise Zoo. The Boise Zoo is great for little ones. The whole zoo can be explored with a half day. I was surprised at how engaged my nine month old was with the animals. He enjoyed watching the active animals especially the monkeys, giraffes and this bird that was digging in the dirt for some grub. He also enjoyed the electronic dinosaurs that were throughout the zoo. Every staff member we met was courteous, pleasant and seemed great with kids. The zoo even has a carousel that the kids can ride for a $1! The Boise Zoo offers discount tickets on Thursday throughout the summer. When you go be sure you bring sunscreen, water, and quarters for the petting zoo where you can feed some of the animals, and dollar bills for the carousel.

Visiting Houston NASA Johnson Space Museum

Wednesday, July 16, 2014

This summer we were able to visit Houston. We stayed at a Motel 8 near NASA and went to the NASA Johnson Space Museum. We went early in the morning. I highly recommend going on the TRAM tours early in the morning and not going during a holiday weekend or in the middle of the summer. We went in early June so it was hot (but not as hot as it would be in July or August). The TRAM tour was very interesting we saw mission control for the Apollo Missions, where the astronauts train and a Saturn V. At the Saturn V complex, a rocket engineer was there to answer any questions. We fully utilized this opportunity and asked him a ton of questions. A lot of the other tourists did not realize his background so they kind of just ignored him, but he was very insightful and helped clear up any questions that we had. After the TRAM tour, I recommend exploring the exhibits. The exhibits are fun, science-orientated, hands-on and great for kids. I was also impressed with the souvenirs available. The souvenirs seemed reasonably priced compared to any beach location, theme park or even Disneyland. Some items that you might want to bring with you include: a camera, sunscreen water bottle, wear seasonally appropriate clothes, snacks for tots, walking shoes and money for souvenirs. NASA Johnson Space Museum also offers special tours for adults, but they need to be booked months in advance. My husband would have loved to do one of those tours, but having an eight month old makes that kind of difficult. Overall, it was a great experience and  more fun than I thought it would be.

Kleenex Review

Monday, July 7, 2014

Recently, I was asked to review Kleenex "On the Go" travel packs from Crowdtap.  Kleenex is so well known that instead of calling tissues, tissues, we often call them Kleenex. Besides being well known, the Kleenex brand is dependable, quality product, and durable. Kleenex is my favorite brand of tissue and we often try and get them when they are on sale to stock up for winter and spring colds and/or allergy season. It's also great to have a travel size one on hand for colds, wiping children's hands and/or faces, to use as TP for portapotties, in case you spill your drink in the car, removing makeup or fixing it, and etc. Overall, Kleenex is a great thing to have on hand.

Kleenex also has a new version called "On the Go," providing fun, stylish trial size packs for when you are on the go. They fit everyone's busy lifestyle. They will conveniently fit in your purse, car and/or diaper bag. They are also convenient for 72-hour kits.

A less conventional use for Kleenex is crafts. You can use Kleenex as a replacement for tissue paper. I was able to make snowflakes out of Kleenex, which could be put on a garland or table to make it festive for the winter.

Disclaimer: I received my Kleenex Trial Size Version from Crowdtap for free for testing and review purposes in exchange of my opinion, which is reflected in this entry.
