- Chipotle Chicken: Place 4-5 skinless, boneless chicken breasts in a crockpot with chipotle peppers in adobo sauce. Cook for 6-7 hours on low. Shred after cooking and top on microwaveable brown rice, black beans (cooked in microwave), tomatoes and cheese.
- Pork and Sauerkraut: Cook pork and 1 large container of sauerkraut in a crockpot for 6-7 hours on low. Serve with microwaveable, steamed veggies.
- Breakfast Casserole in a Crockpot: I used this recipe here, but replaced the meat with pre-cooked diced ham.
- Taco Salad: Place hamburger meat and taco seasoning in a crockpot. Cook on low for 5 hours. Check often to stir and crumble meat more (with fork). Serve with taco chips, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese.
- Tostadas: Heat refried beans from a can in a microwave. Put beans, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese on tostada shells.
- Roast with Potatoes and Carrots: Place a roast, cut potatoes and carrots in a crockpot and cook on low for 5-6 hours.
- Barbecue Chicken: Place Barbecue Sauce and Chicken in a crockpot and cook for 5-6 hours.
- Grilled Shrimp: Peel and devein raw shrimp and place on skewers. Grill until completion. You can also add bang, bang sauce: plain greek yogurt, sweet chili sauce and siracha sauce. Serve with veggies.
- Hot Dogs: Wrap a papertowel around a hotdog in a bun and microwave for a minute. Serve with veggies.
- Grilled Chicken and corn on the cob: Grill chicken on a grill with your favorite seasoning. Grill corn on the cob by peeling some of the husk and layers. Run under the sink and then grill until done.

Our kitchen is torn apart right now and we are without an oven or stove (due to a leak coming from the plumbing to our dishwasher). Surprisingly enough, you don't need an oven or stove to make meals for your family. Crockpots, microwaves and grilling are excellent tools to make homemade meals for your family when you don't have a stove or oven for a time. Here are some of the meals we've made:
