Butterfly Learning Time

Wednesday, June 20, 2018

My kids, ages 4 and 2, enjoy doing a "learning time." In one of our learning times, we decided to learn about butterflies. We talked about the life cycle of a butterfly and worked on counting red vs. blue butterflies.

We also did the "long path" butterfly game as described in the book, More Than Counting. I created the board game as described in the book in Microsoft Word. The games and activities in More Than Counting make learning math more fun and enjoyable for young kids. I highly recommend this book!

We also made a butterfly craft. We glued construction paper wings to the back of a popsicle stick and then glued on google eyes. My kids added their own "unique" touches via stickers and crayons.
