Here's a list of some great books or short stories to read during the fall/halloween season:

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley: Mary Shelley wrote this book as a challenge to write a compelling ghost story along with her husband and Lord Byron.

Rose for Emily by William Faulkner

Turn of the Screw by Henry James: An enjoying read if you like to hear about Ghosts!

The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe

The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe

The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Gillman

The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe

The Legend of Sleepy Hallow by Washington Iriving

The Devil and Tom Walker by Washington Irving

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson

There's many more, but this is a good starting list.
